Mozart: Violin Concerto No. 5
Mozart's ''Turkish'' Violin Concerto.
From April to December 1775, Mozart composed five violin concertos. He began playing the violin as a six year old with his father, himself an accomplished violinist, as teacher. In Violin Concerto No. 5 Mozart demonstrates his enormous imagination, and experiments with tempi, etc. The concerto, sometimes nicknamed ''Turkish'' was premiered in Salzburg around Christmas time 1775.
