Bruckner: Symphony No. 6
A mighty symphonic experience!
Anton Bruckner spent two years composing his sixth symphony, and it was completed in 1881. Himself didn't experience the complete symphony, just parts of it. Gustav Mahler conducted the symphony in 1889, but with cuts and amendments in the score. Not before 1935, more than 40 years later, was the symphony performed the way Bruckner wrote it. Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra has recorded the symphony with Thomas Dausgaard (BIS).
