Beethoven: Symphony No. 3 ''Eroica''
Longer, louder and more arresting than anything that had gone before it, Beethoven’s Third Symphony left audiences dumbfounded when it was first performed in 1805.
Over two centuries on, it is one of the most cherished symphonies of all time and a piece that encapsulates ideals of liberty with endurance and fortitude. Ludovic Morlot conducts Beethoven’s ‘heroic’ symphony in this concert and brings with him music shaped by his native France.
