Ravel: Daphnis et Chloé

A musical Fresco.

Daphnis et Chloé is a ballet in one act with three parts, by the composer himself described as a choreographic symphony. It is a story about the love between the goatherd Daphnis and Cloé. Ravel began working on the music in 1909 after a commission from Sergej Diaghilev. The Music in suite No. 2 consists mostly of the final scene from the ballet.
