De Unges Konsert 2019 – Ingvild Schultze-Florey
De Unges Konsert Young Soloists Competition gets more intense every year as the finest young performers from Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland vie for the honour of appearing with the Bergen Philharmonic, as well as earning a career-boosting scholarship from the Kavli Trust. It is always an inspiration to experience the dedication and accomplishment of young artists.
Norwegian Mezzo-Soprano Ingvild Schultze-Florey (b. 1992) is completing a Masters of Music at The Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of Susan Roper, on a full scholarship from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
Ingvild is proudly supported by the Bergen National Opera and Edvard Grieg Kor’s talent programme Unge Stemmer. In Norway, Ingvild has performed with the Edvard Grieg Kor in Grieg Minute by Minute, and features on their debut album released this spring. Ingvild has also performed in the chorus for Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and Bergen National Opera’s production of Peter Grimes, and sang the role of Mercédés in their production of Carmen.
Whilst in the U.K. Ingvild has performed a number of principal, supporting, and cover roles at the Royal Northern including a Sprite in Massenet's Cendrillon, and Hermia in British Youth Opera’s production of The Enchanted Island.
Among her many accolades, Ingvild boasts the prestigious Alexander Young Prize, and was a finalist in the Joyce and Michael Kennedy Award for the Singing of Strauss.
