Dutilleux: L’arbre des songes

Violin Concerto dedicated to Isaac Stern.

Henri Dutilleux continued the from Debussy and Ravel deep in to the 20 century with music which marries modernity with the strikingly beautiful. He based his violin concerto on the processes of continuous growth and renewal seen in trees, choosing the title L’arbre des songes to reflect it.
